LISBET BERTELSEN

HEY, I’M LISBET. AS A CERTIFIED CREATIVITY COACH, I HELP ARTISTS, WRITERS, AND OTHER CREATIVES OVERCOME OBSTACLES AND ACHIEVE THEIR DREAMS. MY APPROACH IS EMPATHETIC, PERSONALIZED, AND ROOTED IN A COMPREHENSIVE UNDERSTANDING OF BOTH THE CREATIVE PROCESS, PUBLISHING, AND THE ART WORLD.

I trained with America’s foremost creativity coach, Eric Maisel, and with hundreds of coaching hours under my belt coaching novelists, nonfiction authors, song writers, art photographers and visual artists, I’m well versed in the issues unique to creatives.

Though, I’m currently based in Copenhagen in my native Denmark, I’m a New Yorker at heart. I spent 12 years in New York City, working for top galleries, art advisors, and as an arts journalist, where I interviewed world famous artists for newspapers and magazines.

MY PERSONAL
JOURNEY

Before heading to NYC, I studied art history and comparative literature and trained as a journalist. In Denmark, I worked in a curatorial position in an art museum for French Impressionist art, where I realized that my true interests lay in contemporary art because I wanted to work with living, breathing artists. This let me to work on the Danish contribution to the Venice Biennial in both curatorial- and editorial positions, where I got to work directly with contemporary artists and began to find my calling.

I FOLLOWED MY HEART AND MOVED TO NEW YORK CITY. I LIVED IN A LOFT IN WILLIAMSBURG WORKING AS AN ARTS JOURNALIST AND LATER STUDIED ART BUSINESS AT NYU AND FIT, WHERE I SPECIALIZED IN GALLERY MANAGEMENT AND WROTE MY M.A. THESIS ON THE GALLERY’S ROLE IN MAKING THEIR ARTISTS FAMOUS. THEN I WORKED FOR TOP NEW YORK GALLERIES AND ART ADVISORS AND FOUND ONCE AGAIN THAT WHAT INTERESTS ME THE MOST IS WORKING DIRECTLY WITH ARTISTS.

While living in New York, I came across creativity coaching, which quickly won over my heart, as it enables me to do what I love. Namely, to work with creatives and help them grow into a bigger and bolder version of themselves.
